Diversion for Unlawful Assault

Our client plays soccer at a semi-professional level and was in the midst of an important game. A player from the other team hurled verbal abuse against my client and even mentioned his deceased dad. My client, understandably irate, made an unfortunate decision to knee him and break his nose. Police charged him with reckless injury and serious injury. I explained the situation, provided excellent material and the client walked away with a diversion for 6 months good behaviour and to complete anger management course. These charges have since been withdrawn by the court.
